Itinerary
11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Collection from your Nadi hotel. Depart for the interior.
1:00 PM – 2:30 PM: Enjoy a local Fijian lunch at I Tukuni Restaurant in Ba.
4:30 PM: Arrival at the iconic thatched-bure Navala Village.
5:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Experience a traditional welcome ceremony (Sevusevu) and village entertainment.
7:30 PM: Communal dinner with your host family.
10:00 PM: Gather around a bonfire for ancient Fijian storytelling under the stars. Accommodation: Navala Village Homestay.
7:00 AM: Early morning guided nature walk through the highland surrounds.
8:30 AM: Breakfast in the village.
9:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Hands-on cultural immersion: Fijian bure building demonstration, bilibili (bamboo raft) making, and fishing for prawns and tilapia with locals.
Afternoon: Check out. Visit the historic Udre Udre Tomb en route to Watika Farms for a tour and refreshments. Journey to the Rakiraki coast.
5:00 PM: Check in at Nanumi Au Eco Lodge.
5:45 PM: Afternoon kayak and mangrove crab/fish catching expedition.
Evening: Dinner followed by a bonfire with serenading and storytelling.

6:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Guided nature walk and ocean kayak. Return for breakfast.
10:30 AM: Visit the breathtaking Church of the Black Christ in Naiserelagi Village.

2:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Village activity: visit working Dalo (Taro) and Yaqona (Kava) farms.

Tipping is not traditionally expected in Fijian culture, but it is appreciated for exceptional service. If you wish to tip guides, village hosts, or lodge staff, it should be done discreetly and respectfully.
Internet access is limited in remote villages and while sailing on the Uto ni Yalo. Wi-Fi may be available at eco-lodges and First Landing Beach Resort, but connectivity is basic. Local networks like Vodafone Fiji and Digicel cover most mainland areas, but reception is unreliable in the highlands and at sea. Consider purchasing a local SIM in Nadi if you need consistent access.
You will experience a range of facilities:
Western-style flush toilets at eco-lodges, resorts, and some village stays.
Traditional pit or squat toilets in remote villages (e.g., Navala, Nabalasere).
Basic marine toilets onboard the Uto ni Yalo.
We recommend carrying your own toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and a small supply of soap.
Tap water is not recommended for drinking in most parts of Fiji. Filtered or boiled water will be provided at accommodations and onboard the sailing vessel. Please bring a reusable water bottle to refill.
